On January 2nd, 2019, West St. Paul City Councilmember Dave Napier is scheduled to be sworn in as Mayor. Upon assuming his new role, the City Council will declare a vacant Ward 3 City Council seat. As outlined by State law and within the guidelines of West St. Paul’s City Charter, the Mayor and other Councilmembers will fill this vacancy by appointment. The appointee will hold the seat through 2020, the remainder of the current term.
Applicants must be eligible under the constitution of the United States and the State of Minnesota to seek public office. They must be an eligible voter, at least 21 years of age or older prior to assuming office, and have been a resident of the City of West St. Paul for at least 30 days before taking office.
The incoming Mayor and City Council are requesting applications from any Ward 3 West St. Paul citizens who would be interested in filling this vacancy.
