Correct time to drink water....very important.

From a Cardiac Specialist!

Drinking water at certain times maximizes its effectiveness on the body:

2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs

1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion

1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure

1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack

Water at bedtime will also help prevent night time leg cramps. Your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a
Charlie Horse.

Dial-a-ride Service in Dakota

County - Operated by DARTS

When change happens, DARTS will walk you through it, listen, and help!

What's changing?

Transit Link is the DARTS dial-a-ride service beginning May 3. Transit Link is a metro-wide service of the Metropolitan Council aimed at providing rides where no large bus, fixed-route service exists. Transit Link is available to all residents.

Transit Link is curb-to-curb service with limited assistance to your door (such as help with grocery bags).

Schedule Transit Link rides by calling 651-602-5465, beginning April 26. You'll be prompted to select #3 and then DARTS will answer the call.

Transit Link operates between 6 a.m.and 7p.m. weekdays.

When you call for a ride, you'll be given a transit option based on where you're being picked up, where you're going, and the time of day.

Buses will say Transit Link or will be all white. Look for "operated by DARTS" by the driver and
passenger doors.

What's staying the same?

The DARTS ADA ride service for ADA-certified riders is not changing - same phone
number, same hours of operation, same fares, same door-through-door

assistance. Call 651-455-1339 to schedule your ADA ride.

The DARTS drivers, ride schedulers, and customer service staff you've come to know are still
here to serve you - for both Transit Link and ADA rides.

Getting you where you need to go is our number one goal!

What does this change mean for you?

Your first Transit Link call may take longer than usual. Thanks for your patience!
Every Transit Link trip you take may involve differe
nt bus solutions. We'll sort it all out with you!

Thank you.

Minnesota Department of Public Safety

The Minnesota bureau of Criminal Apprehension(BCA)announced that a new automated fingerprint identification system(AFIS)will enhance the ability of law enforcement to match people to criminal activity based on fingerprints. This new system will provide more rapid matching of fingerprints submitted to the system and has greater storage capacity than the previous database. Agencies can submit fingerprints and receive a match within a few minutes, a process which previously could have taken several hours. The technology in the new AFIS makes it possible to match more fingerprints of lower quality; such as those captured at crime scenes, enhancing the capabilities for investigating crimes.
The new AFIS also stores and matches palm prints, among the ost common pieces of evidence left a crime scenes. In addition, new electronic fingerprint capture devices, called Live scans, can capture fingerprints and palm prints at booking, and takes a digital photograph. This expands the information in a database that can be matched against evidence collected from crime scenes and can potentially help solve crimes more quickly.
The new features are a key piece in system-wide effort to link more criminal justice information to fingerprints, and to expand submission to the state's digital booking photo database.
The new AFIS will have a dramatic impact on law enforcement's crime fighting efforts. Rapid identification of suspects and persons of unknown identity is a major step toward making our state a safer place.
